A writing teacher with a confidential past is summoned to a surprisingly unnerving meeting, after which he tries to make sense of what always seemed to be obvious. 

He moves through shady psychological and political areas, pulling a thread that unravels his closest circle, while activating a mechanism of circumstance he is not aware of.  Or so it may seem.
