Available Now follows the taxi rides of Hassan, a middle aged Palestinian UBER driver living in Berlin, and Amir, a young Israeli tourist, who decides to move to Berlin and fight for a new love. The entire film takes place inside Hassan's taxi, over the course of three years, telling a tragic-comic story about longing.
Trigger
I want to tell a story about a surprising unannounced connection, almost a father-son relationship, created between two people in "Exile", longing for what they simply cannot have.
Filmmakers
Assaf Machnes: Writer-director based in Tel Aviv and Berlin. Assaf's work was shown in platforms such as Venice Biennale, Berlinale, Sarajevo, BFI London, HBO, ARTE and more. Assaf is currently in development for two TV series while raising funds for his debut feature.
Kobi Mizrahi, an Oscar nominated Producer, founded KM Productions, an Israeli Production Company, focusing on creating a true and sustainable relationship with young innovative directors in order to produce both short and feature films among them The Dive (Locarno, Toronto 2018) and many award winning shorts premiered in Cannes, Venice, Locarno, Toronto, SXSW, Clermont Ferrand.
