15-year-old Ahmet lives in a remote Yuruk village in North Macedonia with a strict father, a herd of sheep, and a conservative community. Working as a shepard by day, the boy finds refuge in music, in dreams of becoming a DJ, while navigating his father’s expectations and his first experience with love - a girl already promised to someone else.

DJ Ahmet is a coming-of-age drama full of charisma and heart, bursting with music, color, and movement. The story of a boy who dares to dream where dreams are considered a weakness won both the Audience Award and a Special Jury Award in Sundance, and reminds us to dance as if no one is watching.

This film is also subtitled in Arabic.
