Cécile is about to open her own gourmet restaurant—finally realizing her dream—when her father suffers a heart attack and she is called back to the village where she was born. Far from the bustle of Parisian life, she runs into her teenage crush, and memories begin to resurface, shaking her sense of certainty.

The Opening Film of the Cannes Festival this year, Leave One Day is a crowd-pleasing musical with Gallic flavor. The first debut feature ever to launch the festival, the film comes with culinary delights, delicious nostalgia and a fine performance from singer Juliette Armanet - best known for performing John Lennon’s “Imagine” at the opening of the Paris Olympics last year – as Cécile.
