After a devastating wildfire, Dusty - a reserved, divorced rancher - is relocated to a temporary trailer community on a government-run campsite, alongside other displaced locals. Through his daughter’s determined optimism and a newfound sense of community, he learns to accept help and open up to the possibility of starting over.

Max Walker-Silverman’s Sundance hit Rebuilding, starring Josh O’Connor (The History of Sound, also screened this year in our program), is a tender portrait of the American West, set against the stunning backdrop of southern Colorado – an emotional and uplifting journey about finding a sense of home, restoring human connections, and embracing the openheartedness that can emerge from loss.

Filmography: A Love Song (2022).
