The Black Ball

The Black Ball tells the interconnected stories of three men across three different eras - 1932, 1937, and 2017 - spanning 85 years of Spanish history. Three lives are intimately linked by sexuality and desire, pain and inheritance, and one of Federico García Lorca´s last, unfinished works.

Winner of the Best Director Award at Cannes, where it received a 16-minute standing ovation, The Black Ball is an ambitious and captivating homage to Federico García Lorca. The epic film is carefully composed and beautifully shot, with lush period details, powerful performances and a deeply moving emotional climax.
