Rokas, a young Lithuanian, has never experienced war but has grown up in its shadow. A friend persuades him to undertake a journey to the Ukraine, driving a truckload of materials intended for humanitarian aid, and Rokas drafts his girlfriend Inga to come along. Plans soon change and they find themselves left to their own devices, crossing the vast snowy lands in search of allies and shelter.
