It is the last Friday before Christmas, the busiest night of the year at one of London’s top restaurants, and head chef Andy is already behind when the shift has barely started. The hostess has overbooked, a disgruntled inspector is combing the kitchen and, if that weren’t enough, Andy’s mentor, a culinary icon, shows up unannounced with his partner, a respected food critic. Things just couldn’t get any worse.

Filmed in one take, and based on a 2019 BIFA-nominated short of the same name, Boiling Point allows us to experience all the energy, egos and madness that go into creating a top dining experience - the unrelenting tempo and pressure, and the human cost of it all. Stephen Graham is superb in the lead role.
