Marco works as a farmhand in a remote mountain village. Anna lives there with her daughter. Some doubt whether this new relationship will work out, but not Marco or Anna. They get married and find strength and happiness in each other as they build a life. Everything changes when Marco falls ill with a brain tumor.

Winner of a Jury Special Mention at the 2022 Berlin Festival, A Piece of Sky offers a measured study of change, comparing the seasonal cycles – where warm days may vanish with the promise to return – with the more unidirectional trajectory of physical decline. Filmmaker Michael Koch shot the film with amateur actors from the region.

Filmography: Marija (2016).
