Léo and Rémi, two thirteen-year-old boys, share a loving and genuine friendship as we meet them racing through the idyllic commercial flower fields owned by Léo's family. The idyll doesn't last, the boys start a new school and a rift gradually develops. Struggling to understand what has happened, Léo approaches Sophie, Rémi's mother.

Winner of the Grand Prix at the 2022 Cannes Festival, Close is a beautiful examination of friendship and responsibility, a mature film about innocence. The astute observations and delicate attention to detail, alongside the inspired cinematography and flawless performances have won the film rave reviews and mark Lukas Dhont as an up-and-coming filmmaker.
