Yazid spends his childhood moving from one foster home to another, while dreaming of becoming a pastry chef. Nothing prepares him for such a career, but Yazid's fierce determination and resourcefulness allow him to thrive in the elitist arena of patisserie. Working for the world's top chefs from Paris to Monaco, Yazid sets off to conquer the international pastry championship.

Sugar and Stars is an inspirational drama based on the true story of famed pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen. The film sweetly blends the charm of Riadh Belaïche - a social media influencer - in the role of Yazid with tempting and stylish pastries.

Feature Debut

After the screening on October 6, there will be a discussion with bakers and pastry chefs, moderated by food journalist, TV host, and cook Hila Alpert. Following the discussion, a tasting menu meal will be held.

Written in the Dough

A conversation with bakers and pastry chefs about the changing landscape of baking, sources of inspiration in the age of networks, myths in baking, multiculturalism in the world of baking, and the impact of immigrants and the sugar crisis on the world of confectionery and bakeries.
