Why did I even start making films?
I wonder, sitting on the balcony of my temporary home in Tel Aviv — 90 kilometers from my kibbutz, which was ravaged in the October 7th attack.
Watching the neighbors’ balconies, I’m reminded of the films I once shot in Kibbutz Re’im and wonder if I’ll ever make films again.
If I’ll ever live again.

Closing one’s eyes is a kind of art. Pompeii is a fiction film which incorporates archival footage, while peeking into the lives of three best friends across three major nights in 2023. Were the signs of a burst always there? Or is it yet to come?
In Tel Aviv, through spring, summer, and fall, Goni and her friends try to grip onto a world that grows increasingly confusing. Goni searches for something to cling to—or at least something that will remain unchanged.
