Edmond Dantès (Pierre Niney) is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit. After 14 years in the island prison of Château d’If, he makes a daring escape and assumes the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, seeking revenge on the three men who betrayed him.

The new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's classic adventure novel is a sumptuous production with breathtaking backdrops and a breakneck pace, “executed with all the panache of golden-era Hollywood epics” (Variety). The film received a standing ovation at its Cannes premiere.

This film is also subtitled in Russian.

Filmography: The Best Is Yet to Come (2019), What's in a Name? (2012).
