At a luxury seaside hotel, Karl and Emilie are preparing for their son's naming ceremony, when Karl's estranged mother, Vibeke, suddenly turns up uninvited. Karl wants her gone, but his sister, Rikke, insists there won't be any problems. Over one tense weekend, old patterns and buried wounds surface in front of in-laws and guests until the celebration fractures.

Mads Mengel's feature debut, winner of two awards at Karlovy Vary, is a sharply observed family drama about the roles we inherit, the people we try to become, and the impossibility of ever fully escaping where we come from. Celebrated actor Trine Dyrholm is magnetic as Vibeke.
