A Chinese girl is passed between three families from the age of six to eighteen, receiving a new name and identity each time. As she searches for a sense of belonging and the possibility of love, she must navigate the weight of her past and the uncertainty of her future – until she finds her own way.

Zou Jing's feature debut, winner of two awards at Cannes, is an intimate coming-of-age story set against the quiet backdrop of China's one-child policy. Gorgeously shot and featuring stirring performances, the film finds grace and beauty in a difficult period of recent Chinese history.
