The story takes place in August 1991, when in former USSR there was an attempt of political upheaval, led by the Soviet intelligence services – the KGB, and the "mighty" Soviet Union disintegrated in three days. This is the background for the dramatic events that happened to the main characters of the film in a villa in Crimea, USSR (now - Ukrainian territory annexed by Russia), where they spent their vacation. The nightmare of their relationship reflects the nightmares of the present and future of their country.
