Lucia, a surveyor by profession, lives with her teenage daughter in a small town in the Veneto region. One day the Virgin Mary appears to her and instructs her to build a church on a site planned for the construction of a commercial centre. Lucia initially thinks her mind is playing tricks, but in the end launches a battle with the authorities and investors.

Winner of the Best European Film Award in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the Cannes Festival, Gianni Zanasi’s unconventional comedy offers a stellar cast of actors.
