He is considered to be one of the greatest Hebrew writers, even though he was not a Zionist – he left Palestine after less than a year. David Vogel created novels and poems, enjoying a masterful ability to use a magnificent Hebrew, describing sexuality and desire, roleplays and identities, like no other could do before him. Using his journals, letters and writings, director Ayelet Ofarim goes on a journey through Europe and Mandatory Palestine - following the trail of the sad writer who managed to do wonders in Hebrew but somehow happened to be at the wrong places and at the wrong times, repeatedly, until it cost him his life.
