The aimless Ermanno spends his days playing slot machines. When Lena, a heavily pregnant Polish girl, comes to Italy to sell her baby, Ermanno has an idea: the two will pretend to be a couple so that his uncle Fabio can adopt the child (surrogate motherhood is illegal in Italy) and split the money. And then Sole is born early…

Sole comes to Haifa directly from its world premiere in the Venice and Toronto Festivals. Carlo Sironi takes his characters on an emotional journey through the relevant topics of newborn trafficking and fake adoptions to ponder the nature of fatherhood.
