During the Rio Olympics, the government implemented an operation called Pacification, aiming to quell violence in the favelas by sending armed police forces to these neighborhoods. 13-year-old Tati lives in such a favela with her mother. Tati’s life changes when her father Jaca, the former leader of the favela, is released from prison and returns home.

Winner of the Best Film Award at the 2019 San Sebastian Festival, Pacified is a compassionate portrait of a family trying to find peace in the ever-shifting urban battlefield they call home.
