1925 saw a terrible scandal shake the city of Budapest. Ferenc Kudelka was slaughtered in his own abattoir, cut up, bundled into suitcases and dumped in the Danube. The gruesome crime is committed by a former gendarme by the name of Gusztáv Léderer and his ex-prostitute wife Mári.

Janos Szasz, one of the most gifted Hungarian filmmakers of his generation, relates his black-and-white crime drama, a tale of meat, amour and murder, with brutal truth and raw realism.

Filmography: The Notebook (2013), Opium: Diary of a Madwoman (2007), The Witman Boys (1997), Woyzeck (1994), Don't Disturb! (1990).
