Ninjababy

Panorama

"Flikke's Norwegian pregnancy comedy is fresh, funny, and feminist, with the year's most unlikely animated hero at its heart."

Rakel (23) finds out way too late that she is six months pregnant after a not-so-romantic one-night stand, and her world changes. Her boyfriend, who is not the father, is kind of ok with her having a baby, but Rakel is absolutely not ready to be a mother. When she decides not to keep the baby, an animated Ninjababy turns up and makes her everyday life difficult.

Based on the graphic novel Fallteknikk by Inga Sætre (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Ninjababy is a raunchy and warm-hearted story of an unexpected change and the unapologetically chaotic young woman who must confront it.

Filmography: Women in Oversized Men’s Shirts (2015).
