The Guerrasio family gathers to celebrate the 18th birthday of Claudio and Carmela’s oldest daughter. There is a healthy rivalry between the birthday girl and her 15-year-old sister, Chiara, as they compete on the dance floor. It is a happy occasion. However, everything changes the next day when Claudio disappears. Chiara, unconvinced by the cover story, starts to investigate. As she gets closer to the truth, she is forced to decide what kind of future she wants for herself.

Winner of the Label Europa Cinemas award in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2021 Cannes Festival, Jonas Carpignano’s film is a fresh and polished coming-of-age story about a young woman’s clash with the law of silence, which weighs on her family.

Filmography: A Ciambra (2017), Mediterranea (2015).
