Dark Glasses

"The arrival of a new Dario Argento film is an event! The colour saturation in these images is simply delicious. Gorgeous costume work by Guido Bongiorno makes the most of it, and Rome itself seems to have set out to please."

Rome. An eclipse blocks out the sun, blackening the skies on a hot summer day - harbinger of the darkness that will envelop Diana when a serial killer chooses her as prey. Fleeing her predator, the young escort crashes her car and loses her sight. She emerges from the initial shock determined to fight for her life, but she is no longer alone. Defending her and acting as her eyes is a young Chinese boy whose life has also been altered forever by the accident. Together the pair try to stay one step ahead of the killer.

He's back! Dario Argento, an undisputed master of the genre, makes his first film in a decade. His new offering, scripted with his frequent collaborator Franco Ferrini (Phenomena, Opera), was presented in the 2022 Berlin Festival and has been scaring audiences ever since.

Filmography: Mother of Tears (2007), Opera (1987), Tenebrae (1982), Suspiria (1977), The Cat o' Nine Tails (1971), The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970).

The film contains scenes of a disturbing nature.
