The Vaknin tribe, a god-fearing, Jewish- Moroccan family, lives in a remote town in Israel, longing for the good old Morocco, and trying to make some sense of their lives. One of the sons, Jojo - a gambling addict on the lookout for a "quick-fix" - drags the family into a financial crisis, which threatens to tear them to pieces.

Flowers Gate - Bab el Ward is a classic immigrant family drama, full of laughter and tears, nostalgia and folklore, color and cooking. It chronicles the daily struggles and moments of grace of people who still carry their beloved motherland in their heart.
