The Happiest Man in the World

Asja is a 45-year-old legal advisor looking for romantic love. Encouraged by her mother, she reluctantly attends a blind-dating event in her hometown, Sarajevo, where she is matched with a banker named Zoran. A dangerous, ambivalent courtship dance soon develops between the two, a ritual of love and war reminiscent of Sarajevo’s recent history.

The Happiest Man in the World is an intense, stylized drama with a brilliant cast of characters and a script sharper than Cupid's arrow. The film comes to Haifa directly from its screenings in the Venice and Toronto Festivals.

Filmography: God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya (2019), The Woman Who Brushed off Her Tears (2022), I Am from Titov Veles (2007)
