Wicked Games Rimini Sparta interweaves the stories of two brothers whose tales were told in of Ulrich Seidl's films, Rimini (2022) and Sparta (2022). Seidl initially intended for these two stories to be told in one film, a bleak tale of unfulfilled longing and the pain of finding yourself.

One of the brothers, Richie, chases after his faded glory through a wintry Rimini. When his adult daughter suddenly turns up, demanding money, Richie's world begins to collapse. His younger brother, Ewald, meanwhile is seeking to make a new beginning in a remote corner of Romania. With young boys from the area, he transforms a dilapidated school into a fortress, thereby arousing the parents' suspicions. And in a nursing home in Austria, their father goes round in circles.
