Michael Kingley is a businessman whose family company is about to vote on a proposal to lease land in Western Australia to a mining company. A delay in the vote allows Michael to spend time with his 17-year-old granddaughter Maddy and tell her tales from his childhood in the 1950s, when he lived with his fisherman father in an isolated beachside shack.

Based on Colin Thiele’s 1963 children’s novel about a boy and his beloved pelican, Storm Boy is a timeless story of an unusual and unconditional friendship.

Filmography: Two Fists, One Heart (2008).
