Double Feature - Alain Delon - (1935–2024)

Gangsters, murder, sex and intrigue on the French Riviera! Marc, a dashing young con man running from his girlfriend’s mobster husband, seeks refuge in a gloomy villa owned by the widowed Barbara and her seductive cousin Melinda. He soon finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game of deceit and fear.

The Haifa Festival celebrates legendary actor Alain Delon (1935–2024) with this sharp and sophisticated classic by the most elegant actor of them all. René Clément’s thriller weaves a wicked web of hidden desires and human corruption, with sumptuous black-and-white cinematography and a jazz score by Lalo Schifrin.

Filmography: Purple Noon (1960), Forbidden Games (1952), The Damned (1947).

Screening sponsored by the Institut français.
